Meet Paul Hopkins
Paul Hopkins has spent more than three decades as a working actor, director, and teacher — a career that spans film, television, and stage, and that now shapes everything he brings into the classroom at The Actor Atelier.
He began acting in Montreal after training at Concordia University, then split time between Toronto, Los Angeles, and Montreal in the early years of his career. Paul played the leading role of Michael "Mouse" Tolliver in the Emmy-nominated miniseries More Tales of the City (1998) and Further Tales of the City (2001), and screen audiences also know him from Reacher, Suits, RED 2, The Art of War, and Disney's Z-O-M-B-I-E-S trilogy.
On stage, Paul spent two seasons at the Stratford Festival and was a member of the Birmingham Conservatory of Classical Theatre Training. From 2007 to 2015, he served as Artistic Director and producer of Repercussion Theatre, Montreal's touring Shakespeare-in-the-Park company — overseeing more than 200 performances seen by over 70,000 people across Greater Montreal.
That combination — professional acting credits alongside real leadership of a theatre company — is what Paul brings to every class at The Actor Atelier: rigorous technique, generous collaboration, and a clear, practical path from training to performance.
Paul is a member of ACTRA and CAEA.

Train With Paul
When he's not on set or on stage, Paul teaches at McGill, Concordia, Wilfrid Laurier, and through his own studio, The Actor Atelier - blending Meisner technique with classical training to help actors build truthful, present-moment performances.
